temp for m104 in a W140???

what is the tempurature most people are seeing in the summer with the A/C on? i seem to be hovering around 100 degrees... any information is greatly appreciated

90s engines typically run hotter than 80s engines. Check out JimF's website. Mostly V8 stuff but there are some tips to cooling down your engine.

Typical engine thermostat temp is fully open at 95C, so 100 is about what I would expect with AC on at high outside temps.

120C would indicate either a cooling system problem (bad rad, bad cap, etc) or the visco clutch not working.

Thanks for all the help, i guess im just used to the cooler running m116/117, but now i feel better just to know its normal...thanks

Scott, the only time my 95 S320 gets to 100 is if it is idling in 85+ deg weather with the air on. It normally indicates about 90 when cruising down the highway.
