Regulator

First I want to thank psfred for providing me a very clear series of steps to remove a door panel. I found that my regulator did have damage teeth on the gear. I need instructions on how to remove the regulator for replacement. Is it possible to shift the gear so I can use good gear teeth to close the window? The Mercedes is 1973, 280 SE 4.5
