I have a 1991 300TE Wagon 4-Matic and am planning to replace the outer CV-Boot. I have a few questions:
1) Are there any special "Mercedes Tools" required? 2) What is the difficulty level, 1 being easy and 10 being I should take it to a professional mechanic. 3) How much time should I allow for the procedure? 4) Are there any "hints from experience" anyone would like to share? Do a search on 1/2 shafts and learn all about it. I am not sure about the 4-matic but the rear differential should be just like all the rest.
a. no b. 6 - straight forward but a little physically demanding. c. I can do them on the 123/126 in about 45min/side. d. Make sure the car is in the air securely and take your time.
