190E 2.6 (1992) - Rear Shocks

Yes, I'm thinking of doing the rear shocks on the 190E.

The shop replaced the front - cause said yes before I was thinking.

well I didn't authorize the rear shock -

So tell me - what am I in for?

What are the recommended shock and what challenges will I experience with the rear shocks?

Thanks for the help.

Replacing the rear shocks was the first job I did on our 190E after we got it used. I thought they were causing a problem they weren't - as it turns out. The new shocks were only a marginal improvement. Still, it was an easy job - no spring compressor or removal necessary.

It is a very easy job. No special tools required. However don't start the job unless you have some good quality wrenches, sockets and ratchets. The cheap stuff just wont do it on some of them bolts and nuts that have been on for over 10 years. I would also recommend spraying the bolts and nuts down with WD-40 or similar product the night before you do the change, it really makes a big difference.
