I own a 1979 450 SEL. On last week after a turn-up it was pointed out to me that my exhaust system was returning smoke back into my breather, I had the Catalytic Converters replaced under the car. The problem still exist. The car is running bad. What can I do. What will the after market cost for parts be if I have to replace the ones under the exhaust system.

I am guessing that you have a problem with the air injection. There is a valve that will allow one way travel of the injected air only. This could be the cause. I doubt the cats.
