Just in case anyone finds this interesting/useful, I was able to wire in a relay to momentarily disengage the AC clutch under full load. The relay is energized via the full load contact in the throttle position sensor. Definitely increases available pickup when you really need it (when the AC is on).

I suppose if one has a heavy foot, you might worry about increased wear on the clutch...
