Need Help with Electrical connection
I recently purchased a set of PIAA driving lights. I intend to mount them in the oval cutouts in the lower front bumper of my 99 C280. The kit is complete with harness, relay fused lamps, etc. However, as we know the battery is mounted in the trunk and the harness is ain't long enough for that. I would like them to come on with the foglight position on the light switch, any suggestion on how I can find this wire or any better ideas for mounting them.

I would take the power source from the alternator output circuit and power the lights through a relay using the foglight circuit to turn on the relay. Fuse the power circuit.

Don't splice into anything and don't rely on the fog light circuit fuses. You aren't understanding what I am saying.
Take the power from the output lug; mount another eyelet don't cut the wires. This will power whatever lights you have without compromising the lighweight foglight circuit. Only use the foglight circuit to turn on the lights. Use the circuit to turn on the relay which will not take much power. DO NOT hook additional lighting to the existing load, provide a separate circuit from a good source (the alternator or starter are as good as the battery).
