112K mile issues
I just bought a 1988 560SL in great shape and the dealer prepped it well with a brake job, rear-end seal replacement and minor issues. Got the maintenance book and it appears to have been done by the same dealer when required. I'm looking for some advice, should I have some specific work done at this mileage to insure the longevity of this vehicle? Thanks

timing chain and guides
When was the last time the chain and guides were rpl...??
Needs to be done every 100 or so miles. If not sure and can't document last time, do it right away......Cost about $800 parts and labor. Good luck! Dave Bunker

The above post should read "every 100K or so", gets a little pricey doing the job every 100 miles or so . Would also replace the tensioner at the same time, $50 insurance.
Check the books for the last service to the self leveling system (SLS). Might be time for a fluid flush and filter replacement.

At 100 miles, the shop you do business with wouldn't need anyother customers......
Thanks Mike. My middle finger has a hard time hitting the "K"..... Dave Bunker
