my gas is leaking from a hose connected to a filter (?) under the car. Has anybody experienced this?

I did not have a gas leak in my hoses but,

I replaced mine when I changed the fuel filter. They were starting to crack externally. I think they were the originals from the factory.
What model and year MB?

J.H.,

Where did you buy the replacement hose for the fuel line? The reason I asked is bec. my fuel line hose is also starting to crack. When I looked at Fastlane parts, their hose is different. It's braided. I still have the old hose connected but am thinking of changing it due to cracks.

Tom Q.,

I had a fuel leak when I tried to replace my fuel filter. The leak was coming from the o-ring. Be careful with that leak.

I got my hoses from the MB dealer...

becaause I found out that the old hoses were updated and some of the old hoses were different from the new ones. I did changed ALL the hoses down there. Phil at PartsShop may be able to help you out but, I could not wait for mine.
Good luck!

I had the dealer replcae the hose in my 95 C220 since I just got the car 3 months ago. I don't think they replaced it with an original MB hose but I guess any high pressure hose will do as long as you have the correct hose diameter. I was watching the dealer when they fixed it to make sure that they do not break the O-ring (Thanks for the Info AKO).

MB owners need to check the hose from time to time. Since the hose is bent at an angle, this causes undue stress to the hose, hence, the crack.
