Dealer radiator defective?

I bought a new dealer radiator to replace the leaky one in my 1987 300D. The dealer rad has NO holes to mount the transmission cooler line like my old one. Both are 124 500 0002. Is the one I got defective or have they changed the way they secure the trans cooler line? Open to ideas before I return it or take out the drill! I'm trying to get out on vacation in 2 days.
