Fuse 7 Blowing on 300e
Fuse no. 7 on my '86 300e blows after about 20 seconds every time I turn on the A/C.
Per the wiring diagram, this fuse provides power to the mono valve, coolant pump, A/C compressor control unit, aspirator blower, and push button control unit. I have run the fan only in economy mode for several minutes without the fuse blowing. I disconnected the mono valve and associated coolant pump and the fuse still blows. What test procedure are recommended to issolate the cause of the fuse blowing? Thanks for any suggestions you can provide. |
Additional info.
When I disconnect the wires from the compressor and run the fan, the fuse does not blow. Does this indicate the compressor clutch is bad? What should the resistance be at the clutch wire connection? Thanks. |
