124 air conditioner does not cool

my 87 300E was converted to 134a in 7/01 for $1700 (reman compressor, expan valve, receiver,ac clutch) and has cooled well until now. About one day after fixing my fuel level sender and putting my speedo back in the dash, the ac no longer cools adequately. Where do I start to dx? I think my temp sensing functions are ok. Is there a link that I can find to start working? I might buy guages if we think there is a 134a leak. Is there a pure ac shop in Fort Worth, perhaps Dallas?
Thanks

You should start by seeing if the clutch is kicking in. The compressor is low on the drivers side. Have an assistant turn on the a/c with engine running as you watch the very front of the compressor. The very front portion will not be turning, but should turn when the assistant presses the button.

The only a/c shop that I know that I can recommend is McCains on Floyd Circle near the main Texas Instruments plant in Richardson. They are very good and honest. Their phone is 972 669 0669.

Good luck,

I did not see the front of the compressor but heard a click when the button was pushed. The air coming out is cool but not cold. The fan used to slow down when the car cooled off but the cooling does not seem adequate.
Thanks for the rec on McCains
