Hi rrobben,

on my 87 420 SEL, you have to unscrew that black nut, lift the lid and see a mark on the side of the wall inside of it.

I attach a picture of my setup, so you can see whether it's similar.

Please help a stupid man! PS Fluid?

OK, I admit it. I'm a stupid man. I have been searching past posts for over an hour in hopes of finding out how to check the power steering fluid level in my 1993 500 SEL. No luck. I looked in the manual. Again, no luck. I see a big cylinder near the PS pump with a single black nut on the top that I think is the resevior, but I don't know because it's not marked. I've been having "issues" with the pump, and I have a loud growling now when I steer so I'm sure that it's near empty. I just need to know WHERE to put the PS fluid!

Please help me!

P/S fluid

Unscrew that black nut and pull the silver cover up.You will see the full mark on the inside of the resevior.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone. That's where I thought, but I wanted to be sure before I did it. Wouldn't want to put fluid into a place it doesn't belong!

BTW, why doesn't MB put that in the darn manual????
