M-B Service Parts Warranty - Is Labor Covered?

What is M-B's labor warranty for parts purchased from M-B but not installed by an authorized M-B dealer?

Parts salesman at two different dealers have said labor IS covered but the warranty sheet one provided (S-0417-P95, Service and Parts Literature, 09/95) states "Labor for removal and replacement of defective parts or accessories sold but not installed by an authorized dealer" is NOT covered.

The MBUSA website refers you to a dealer for warranty info.
Is there a newer warranty sheet than this? Is labor covered?

no way...Mercedes-Benz will not warranty the labor/installation by an independent shop...they will only warranty the part, provided the part was "installed" correctly...when you are dealing with anything that has to do with warranties or contracts...it is not what the guy over the counter says that counts, but what is WRITTEN DOWN ON PAPER that counts...

Wow.
We do parts warranties for clients who had genuine MB parts
installed at a indie all the time. As long as they have the reciept for the MB part and a reciept for having it installed at a real
shop. They then bring us the car and we proceed with our warranty work just like a new car.
BUT, if the new MB part is not failed, then the client picks up the
tab for any labor time invested.
I just warrantied out a 617 turbo cage motor installed by a indie
4 years ago for oil consumption. All the client had to buy was a set of motor mounts. Not a dime in labor.
