Found low vacuum problem and this corrected late shift problem and now have slightly more than 15 in vacuum. However hard starting problem still exists. 85 500 sl euro.
after engine stands for 30 minutes or more it takes 8 to 10 seconds of cranking to start. Runs rough for a few seconds and then it's fine. Idles fine, runs fine and has plenty of power. A real head scratcher. Fuel pump seems a bit loud but some say that's normal. Low initial fuel pressure? Ignition???

There is an accumulator at the fuel pump assembly. It holds fuel pressure on the system while the pump is not working. If it fails, the engine will act this way.
