Slk Hard Top Help

I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY TOP NOT GOING DOWN OR UP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND HAS PASSED ALL DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. ALL SWITCHES WORK AND DONT KNOW WHAT IT CAN BE. IT IS A 99 SLK 230. I HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SWITCH BACK AND FORTH UNTIL IT EITHER CLOSES OR OPENS. NEED SOME ADVICE. THANKS

This is probably related to your dome lamp problem.
The microswitch for the trunk lid latch needs to be checked closely.
If the car thinks the trunk is open, the top won't work and the
interior light will be on.
