ABS turns on without pushing brake pedal??
Hi,
Lately when travelling at very low speeds <10mph, i can hear the abs kicking in, but I cant feel anything. And I am not stepping on the pedal. Before this symptom, what felt like the front right abs was kicking in at very lowspeed but only when I would step on the pedal. So from reading around it seems like this could be that wheel speed sensor. I already tried to clean this sensor, is there a way to test with a meter or something? As for the newest problem i am kinda stumped because if i dont step on the pedal, nothing should happen right? Thanks a lot, Josh Car is a 88 190e 2.3 8v |

Bad wheel speed sensor or exciter ring would be my forst assumption.
Try popping them out of the front and cleaning the shavings off. Joe

The pump runs briefly to pressurise the system when speed first reaches about 5mph.
