E320 Wagon Towing Hitch

if anybody has installed a towing hitch on their wagon, I'd appreciate any info you can provide as to where to get one, etc.

My car is a 95 E320.

Thanks.

trailer hitch (coupling)

Mercedes-Benz does manufacture an original trailer hitch for almost all of their cars. It can be factory ordered OR post-factory installed at any time (your E 320 T should be ready to have the system installed). See picture below for the post-factory kit. Sorry, but my catolog do not list any specific part numbers.

I bought a Curt hitch from JC Whitney. It's a class 1 hitch. You can download the installation instruction either from Whitney's or Curt's website. Cost me $210 w/shipping IIRC.

This hitch is NOT available in the USA from Mercedes.

Due I suspect to USA liability concerns, the only vehicles Mercedes supports in USA for trailer towing are the ML, GL, and G.

I bought one for my 1986 300E from a place on Cape Cod several years ago, but never installed it. I would be happy to get it out of my garage for a nominal sum. Email me if interested.

Ramonajim -

Sent you a PM, your email is not working.

I have one

I have a hitch that came from a '93 300E. It also has the electrical connector. I am in NC. It would be expensive to mail as it is heavy.

I built one from a Jeep Wrangler hitch. It is a class two and tucked up real nice and neat under the bumper. It will truly handle 3500 lbs. and will last forever.

What is the towing capacity for e320 1994 M104 Engine?

deanyel 07-14-2008 09:22 PM

They typically wouldn't put a tow rating on an engine, but rather on a car, and that number should be in your Owner's Manual.

radunegru 07-14-2008 09:29 PM

I looked all over the owner manual but no clue yet?
