99 SLK230 with ESP?

There a slight "Clunk" coming from my front end when I make a turn from a standing stop. Took it in to the dealer and they seem to thing it's the ESP pump? I didn't think any of the 99's came with ESP? Is there a change over month in 99 when MB started installing it?

It might have esp but, I never heard one clunk. Drop the sway bar center bushing, put a little white grease in 'em and reattach the bar. While your there, run over the front end and look for ant busted boots on the joints and take the bar while lower and move the outer sway bar links around and see if they are dry and sticking.
