Reset check engine lamp
My C43 has had several incidents of illuminating the "check engine" light after long-term storage. This is a "soft/transient" incident, as disconnecting the battery for a minute will reset the lamp to off. Is there a way to reset the lamp without disconnecting the battery? On GM cars one can jumper across two pins at the diagnostic connector to do this. Just wondered if the C43 can be reset in a similar manner. If so, which pins and where is the diagnostic connector located. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Not on a GM as new as your C43 must be. You will need an OBDII scanner at the minimum. Most of your discount auto stores will either loan you one or read the code for you and then clear it if you wish.

Steve,
Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I really appreciate your taking the time. Guess I dated myself on the GM cars! |
