190E 2.6 trans removal
Anybody remove the trans on a 190E 2.6. What is the easiest wat to get the top trans bolts out? Did you use a trans jack or some extra helpers as muscle? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I did remove the auto trans (722.400) on my 1985 Euro 190E 2.0. It is a HUGE job, but quite easy if correctly advised (manuals, friends, professionals). Unbolting the tranny is not difficult unless you forget to remove the metal sheet located between the wiper assembly and the engine. By removing this metal sheet, you will have easy access to the top bolts. I lifted my car by about 20 inches by the help of two jacks. The tranny went down gently with the help of a little hydraulic jack and a wood plate. Hope this will help |
