I need 190e purchase advice
I'm thinking of purchasing a 190e 2.6. I've narrowed the choices down to a couple in my area, and now need to know: would a
1989 w/ rebuilt engine and transmission for $2900 be a better choice than a 1990 w/ 150k miles for $3995? Both vehicles appear to be similar in appearance. I will be driving about 10k miles per year, and expect to keep this car for two years. I am aware that this model has head gasket and oil leak problems, and that's why the rebuilt engine was appealing. I will have a mechanic look at the cars before I buy. I am NOT particularly mechanically inclined, though I subscribe to the philosophy of "good gas" and regular oil changes. Thanks for your assistance. Nancy |

Personally, I'm partial to the 80's 190. My engine and transmission were rebuilt and it drived like a dream til I wrecked it about a month ago. My car had 115k when I bought it, and about 176k when it was wrecked, with the regular oil changes, "good gas", and some TLC, my 190 was the best car I've ever had
