Access to '94 C-220 Instrument Cluster

How do I gain access to the gauges behind the clear plastic cover behind the steering wheel? I'm trying to clean the needles and pins due to a 'sticking' problem and don't know where to begin. Can I remove only the clear plastic lens covering the gauges without disturbing the rest of the dash? Thanks for everyone's help!!

You need to get a pair of instrument cluster removal tools to remove the cluster, then remove the lense from the cluster. On most C Class 202 bodies, you need to remove the steering wheel first, to avoid damaging the steering wheel. If you have the tilt/telescopic steering wheel you may be able to adjsut it to allow the cluster to come out without removing the steering wheel.
