'98 C230 Code help pls.. I'm getting a P170 code when......
I had my C230 hooked up to the code analyzer. Said something about the fuel compensation valve in Bank 1 not working properly. Is this serious? I have 59,550 miles on this car and have not had any major problems until the check engine light just came on. So, I am asking one of the kind people out there if you can help me. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Sounds like an Air Mass Meter.

Is the air mass meter something I can install...
myself or do I have to take it to the shop? Thanks.

Easy job DIY. You should confirm it's failure prior to purchase, as it's not a cheap part.

Did the code say something about "fuel trim self-adaptation at limit"? "Bank one" is the only bank on a C230, it's an inline 4, there is no bank two.
