Angry Anti-freeze leak on 300E

Could I please get some help and advice,
My 300E 1990,has a serious antifreeze leak from under the engine.I noticed it 2 days ago after I had parked the car, only to come back and find alot of green stuff beneath the engine where I had parked.A friend thinks it might be the Waterpump.
Please give some advice on probable problem and price of fixing.

I would suggest opening the hood and trying to find it before worrying too much about the cost. It could be anything from a radiator or hose to the water pump. Water pumps don't cost too much but are a pia to change out. Make sure whoever you get to do it has done one before unless you diy. A fella here in town had a water pump go out on him right in front of a local "generic" auto repair shop. He ended up paying them $1200 and they it took em about 3 weeks because they boogered up the back water pump fasteners trying to get it off.

Could be anything.
If not obvious:
1) Make sure coolant level is ok.
2) Run car until it is at normal operating temp.
3) Look for source of leak.
4) Avoid getting hit by fan.

subru73,

This thread might be of some use in tracking down the leak if it's the water pump:

Finding a coolant leak M103

Hope this helps
