Crossfire transmission problem

I am a mechanic at a Chrysler dealership and am working on a 2004 Crossfire with a 3.2 6 speed manual. This is the same as a CLK drivetrain. The trans pops out of 1st gear when pulling away from stop. The shift linkage adjustment and motor mounts look fine. Are there any MB techs out there that have had this problem with this transmission? Are there any MB service bulletins that apply? Chrysler tech support is of no help an the local MB dealership won't help. It acts like there is too much end play causing the geartrain to move and jump out of gear. I would like some guidance on what to look for before taking it out. And of course, I need this info ASAP.

MB issued bulletin P-B-26.50/01(Sept 2002) about that problem. If the sliding hub for 1 to 2 isn't assembled properly the trans will pop out of 1st gear. MB has mis-assembled "many" of those syncromesh units!! that is the reason for the bulletin.

Make sure you order 7 quarts or so of the trans fluid. I assume they've at least filled you guys in on the fluid requirements and filling procedure on the 722.6. You need the special tool dipstick and hopefully they've given you a diagnostic tool which will allow you to read the trans fluid temp, such as the dealers use (Star Diagnosis System). You may as well order one of the locks for the dipstick tube cap. I assume the Crossy has no dipstick either, just the cap on the tube.
If you don't have any of this, I'd get ahold of somebody at MB or Chrysler to make those stogges at the MB dealer "play ball" until you get your own equipment. Those guys need to get a life.

Gilly,
He is talking about a 6 speed manaul transmission, not a 722.6 auto transmission.

Funny, it already seems as though the Crossfire is gonna have all the MB and Chysler problems together in a single package, it looks nice on the other hand.
