Vacum Leak Causing Backfiring C280

I found a vacum leak in my car... it is coming from the grey wire which is on the top leftmost... it is sucking air and i also hear the other end of the leak coming from in between the two rear tires some where... what could this be? my car has a rough idle, lose of power, and backfiring... can i fix this myself? could it be a O2 sensor?

here is the pic, ignore the red circle its the grey wire to the right of it

Make and model would be pertinent in knowing what to diagnose with your vehicle.

The hissing in the rear is the sound of your fuel pump(s). This is normal. When they go bad, they start buzzing.

it is a 1996 C280... i think it has to do with the air coming from that grey vacum tube.

if it is my MAS i am going to be mad b/c it was changed less than 6 months ago... my father has a 96 E320, is the MAS on this car the same as mine, b/c then i could swap and see if there is a difference.
