turn signals

I have an 83 300d.Turn signals don't work,fuse tested good,any idea where the relay is?

Do you flashers work? You should here a clicking sound from the ash tray area. The relay is behind it. It's real easy to get to it. Pull the ashtray out, then unscrew the bracket that holds the ashtray. It's tucked down inside.

Is that the black square relay with three prongs on it?

Off hand I can't remember. I just remember when replacing the radio in my '83 TD, I saw a relay in that area and when you use the turn signals or hazards, you here the clicking sound from there.

Also .... this is an odd one, if the emergency switch gets caught mid-way, which it can, it will keep the blinkers from working.

I discovered this after wiping down the dash etc.
