1995 C280 SRS Indicator Light
When starting my 1995 C280, the SRS light comes on and stays illuminated for about 1 minute. The manual indicates it should go off after about 4 seconds but also indicates that if there is a problem, the indicator stays lit and may even come on while you are driving (which it does not once it goes out). When I start the car I hear a relay clicking sound that seems to be coming from the passenger side footwell area. This just started happening yesterday and I am not sure if this is a problem or may end up being something that turns out to be intermittent. Anyone have any idea on what could be causing this behavior?

Usually the problem is a seat belt buckle.
When the light goes out after a time (can't remember the specific interval) it is an indication of a non safety related problem. Whether the seat belt is engaged is considered such. The system stills works but might go to a different crash profile for bag activation.
