Question E320 Auto-Down Windows don't work

My 1995 E320 Wagon has a couple of perhaps related problems: the front "one touch" down windows don't function (Yes, they have the extra detents), and you can't open or close the windows/roof with the key locking function. Finally, there is no interior light or buzzer when the driver's door is opened like there is when the passenger door is opened. It's not the switch, I have swapped it already!

Thanks in advance...

Check Fuse G, that supplies power to the Convenience Control Module which controls the power windows and sliding sunroof.

You need to replace the seatbelt warning relay behind the instrument cluster. That's why your dome light isn't working when the driver's door is opened. Part # 004-545-07-32.

O.K., thanks. I'm new to Mercedes. Is it a D.I.Y. job if I get the part? By the way, the seatbelt warning does come on if the pass door is open...

Correct! When the relay goes bad the dome light and seatbelt flasher will come on with the passenger's door open, just not the driver's door. It is a DIY job, but you'll want to use the instrument cluster pulling hooks to avoid damaging the cluster. Once you pull the cluster out, in the top right hand corner at the rear, you'll see the relay.

The relay is attached to a bracket which is held to the firewall with a 10mm nut (or two, I forgot) which is at the very back. Wrap the socket with some tape to make sure the nut doesn't fall into the dash.

O.K., thanks again. I can see where it is now. Any idea how much the replacement part is?

It's $60 at PartsShop. I'd expect your local dealer to be a bit more expensive.

Thanks, Speedy300D.

JetForeman: I checked Fuse G, it has power with the ignition on. Where is the Comfort Convenience Module located?
