The drain hose is plugged. I believe it is on the top of the tranny tunnel, but I'm not sure. You will need to get the car up on jackstands or on a hoist to clear it from underneath.

Easy fix unless there is a dead mouse or a mouse nest in it plugging it up -- they won't fit down the hose very easily!

psfred---Thank You

Thank you so much for the help, thought maybe that could be the cause. Will put it up tomorrow and take a look, see if I can find the drain line in the trans. tunnel. If it is big enough for a texas mouse to get in that is a big line!

Next I have to open up and try to find the aux. fuel tank in the back. Read another letter saying it had braded hoses that cause a fuel smell. I have that very problem. Tired of getting out of care smelling like gas.

Thanks again

No aux fuel tank, but there is a vapor separator/return tank. Plastic, about half the size of a football, could be anywhere in there.

Check underneath for the vent line, its got a fitting on the end that mud daubers love to make nests in, spiders too sometimes, and when they get blocked, gas fumes come out somewhere else.

Also check the rubber lines at the filler neck and the filler cap -- the one on the 280 was dumping fuel from a bad gasket, and pending a new one I put the old oil filler cap from the 300TE (got a new one, it leaked oil) on the 280 gas tank. No more gas smell.
