Post Alarm Malfunction

The factory installed alarm on my 87 300 SDL seems to be malfunctioning. I have decided to disconnect it and was wondering where I need to disconnect it from. I have read a few post, some say under the footwell of the passenger side or under the carpet under the passenger side. Just want to make sure the set up isn't different for my car. Appreciate everyones help.

My alarm sys. in my '87 TD was acting up, actually it would stop. Under the carpeting on the passenger side, you will find a large black plastic cover. With this removed you will find 2 connectors, one of them is for the airbag, leave that one alone. The other is for the alarm. Some have said that a battery that is getting old will cause this problem. I know that the battery in my TD is 4 years old and should be replaced. I haven't done that yet, and put the alarm back together to see if that was indeed the problem.

Specific to the SDL, there's a box with Becker markings and two connectors with about 16 pins each. Remove one or both of the connectors at this box. That should do it.

Mine was really wacky. No pattern to its funkiness. Drove home one night 80 miles with the alarm wailing. Next day I cut the alarm horn and all is well.

Doubt it is related to the battery, I put a new one 8 months ago. Thinking that the body shop that worked on the car mucked up the wiring somewhere. Any chance that it could have to do with my inability to arm and disarm the system from the door locks. Seems to work fine from the trunk lock.

Mine has the same problem: I can't arm / disarm from the doors but when I lock / unlock from the tailgate (mine is a wagon) it works fine!
