Replacing oil filter housing gasket on E420

I "may" need to change the gasket if it is proven to be leaking. Right now i had the valve cover gaskets changed and hope that was the source for oil leak. Just wanted to know how simple/difficult is it to remove the oil filter housing to replace the gasket should that be needed? Anything in particular you recommend I should watch out for? Last time I looked under the engine, I didn’t see much of clearance to work on the filter housing, but again there maybe a trick or two. Your advises had always came very handy..
