1998 w210 lower control arms
Hello all..
I am about to attempt to replace or repair my lower control arm bushing.. 1. Does anybody know which nut should be removed.. the nut on the top the ball joint or the nut that holds the ball joint to the spindle ? 2. Has anybody ever DIY ? 3. If so how was it done, or should I say any special tips.. I have the sport pkg.. so from some earlier post that I have read, these bushing don't last long.. I was also contemplating getting the whole arm and just forget trying to replace just the bushings.. 1998 E430 Sport 84k miles

Pressing out the old bushings and pressing in the new ones requires good quality tools. I take the control arm to a dealer or independent and have them do that part of the job. And use a first class spring compressor. I looked into the price of the whole arm vs. the bushings plus labor on my C280. The arms were just too expensive to make it work out.

The lower ball joint has to be taken a loose. Which part should I take off the one on the top or the one or the back ?
