The bolt pattern is 5 x 112mm = 5 holes, 112mm diameter, 14mm lug bolts
The factory wheel size is 7.5 J x 16 H2 ET46 = 7.5" wide, 16" rim diameter, 46mm negative offset 99% sure Sixto 95 S420 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

I think that offset should be
positive, in the Euro mode of describing things, although there were times long ago when the various _Rod and Custom_ type publications had the opposite terminology (which actually makes more sense to my elderly mind). Otherwise you'd have something of a super huge ricer racer look.

Okay, make it 46mm offset towards the centerline of the car

Its always that remaining 1% that gets you... :-)
Offset is 51mm on this car... same as the S500 for 1995. Bolt pattern and lug size is correct as posted. Hope this helps, KenP |

Thank all of you for the information - now for the question that I should enclosed in the orginal question- I am looking for an extra set of rims for snow tires- what other cars have the same bolt pattern and offset - new S class ? If the offset is less - the same sized tire will be located furter away from the center of the veicle which could cause rubbing with the fender & 1/4 panel (worst case)- correct ?

My bad. The W140 wheels have an offset of 51mm as KenP said. I looked at a picture of a W220 wheel in my collection when I responded. It's the W220 wheels that have an offset of 46mm. I'm told W220 wheels will fit a W140.

Offset
Have got new W220 wheels with ET 46 on my snow tires. There is no noticeable difference with originals, since 5 mm difference in offset is only 2 % of the width of the tyre.
