What kind of air filter?

It's time for me to replace my air filter in my 97 C230. I can get the OEM filter for about $15 or so. Does anybody recommend anything else, e.g. K&N, etc?

Thanks!

Use the search feature and type in K&N You will get a lot of opinions.

Thanks to all for the help. I ended up buying a Hengst stock replacement. Made a big difference, the car runs much smoother now.
