oil filter housing leak at pressure sender...need help
Hello,
I am leaking oil from the oil pressure sender on my 300SD 1984. Problem is that it isn't the sender, but rather the threads on the housng that are the problem. Talked to a friend of mine who used to work on mercedes...he said that there's a seperate "triangle" piece on the oil filter housing that can be ordered as a separate part to replace the damaged threads... can anyone confirm this... I was under the impression that I'm looking at a whole new housing including oil filter case etc... Thanks in advance

Do a search on the topic. Another forum member had the same problem about six months ago. As I recall, he fixed the problem with teflon tape on the threads. There should be a crush washer between the sending unit and the housing.
