91 190e 2.3 starting problem
After a recent dead battery, jump situation my cars condition has fallen greatly. I attempted a jump, and failed? and cables were fried. I replaced battery.
since this i have had all cap/rotor/plugs/spark/fuel filter/air filter replaced and a tune up And i am still having starting problems. When i start it has to crank for 8 or so seconds, i hear each cylinder attempting to fire ? When it starts it idles at about 500 and if i get on the throttle it will stall. Major hesitation problemssssss i beleive it to be an idle valve or a fuel sensor, 02 possibly? Any replies would be greatly appreciated and an idea of cost would also help and any and all of the above could be completely wrong so give a newb some help ;]

Chances are, you fried your OVP relay during that jump start.
A faulty OVP leads to all sorts of weird problems.

On a 2.3 190e the OVP is located directly behind the battery near the firewall. It is silver in color with a red top that houses a fuse.
It's about 2 inches tall and simply plugs into a socket. Beside it is a small black box which is the fuel pump relay When you locate the OVP be sure to remove the fuse and check it before replacing the OVP. Keep us posted, Haasman

That is the correct one
If the Relay doesn't do the job, I think you get yourself some new spark plug cables. New spark plug cables will make a huge different in starting and driving performance.

That is the OVP and the fuse rating (red 10 amp) is marked right on the top. Haasman

Pulling the fuse to check it does no damage. If it's blown, it's not doing anything anyways.
After a 'reverse cable' jump, also check: 1) Your alternator output. 2) Alternator harness and connectors for melting. Don't even ask how I know this.... The subject threatens my technical prowess...
