Hi all,

In this hot weather I've noticed my car is running a little warm . It runs at just over 80 degress on the highway, but is closer to 100 after getting off the highway. After stop and go driving, if I restart the car it will be up around 110, but will drop below 100 within 30 seconds (even at a standstill). I just tried this and I noticed the front auxilliary fans did not come on. Is this the problem? If so, could it be a fuse? The car has a brand new thermostat, water pump, and radiator hoses.

Thanks,

Rick

If the A.C is on, and the aux fans are not and it is very hot outside, yes you have a problem. Have the fuse and the aux fan circuit checked.

Benzmac,

The fuse looks OK. Is the relay circuit something I can check myself? Also, when should these fans? Are they purely driven by temp, or should they always be on when the AC is running?

Thanks,

Rick

This sounds exactly like my car's situation a month ago. I replaced my Auxiliary Fan Relay which was a $27 part at the MB dealer.

MB had apparently changed the part number for the relay so I spent almost 20 minutes waiting while they were trying to match the old part number to the new one.

Hope your repair was as easy as mine..
