Sunroof cable, what the he@%!

I have installed a replacement sunroof motor in my 88 560 SEL. I had to pull the cable out through the sunroof to install the guide tube to the motor. Now I cannot get the cable to feed through the motor. It will not push through because it seems to be hitting against something. I cannot feed it through using the motor because it will not engage the gear.

I did have the motor and cable working together, however to install the guide tube I had to pull the cable back out of the motor. Now I am driving around with this project half done. Has anyone had experience replacing the cable or the motor who can help?

Thanks,

I have looked through the past threads and there is no description of how to adjust the sunroof clutch or any details of the SR motor and how it functions. There must be someone with the answer.

Thanks,
