Heated Seat Trouble

I am having a problem with the heated seats in my 95 E320. When I activate the seat warmers with the console mounted switch, the indicator lights do come on and the seat does begin to warm up; however, about 5 minutes after turning the warmers on, the indicator light, that is part of the switch, begins to blink and at the same time, the seats do not appear to be getting as warm as I remember. This phenomina is occurring on BOTH seats leading me to believe that the problem is not isolated to the drivers seat only.

Any help in diagnosing my problem would be appreciated. Incidentally, when the indicator lights begin to blink, they return to the "normal" ON position after about 15 to 20 blinks.

Go figure!

TIA

Seem to remember the owners manual saying the lights will blink if the battery voltage drops below a certain level - could this be a weak battery or alternator?

Thanks! I'll check out the battery tonight. Since I have had no indicator light on the alternator, I'll assume it is fine, but the battery is due for replacement.
