Benzman, go to the crashtest.com site. You will find some data on what you are looking for. Surprisingly my 300D is not quite as crashworthy as I thought it was; at least that is what 'they' say. :(

Yes, this is the way it is designed to work.

The car 'crumples' like an accordian to absorb the impact so the human occupants do not have to!

It makes a mess of the vehicle, but at least you can walk away with your life!
