I've changed the rotors on my W124 and there is just the one screw but most likely your rotors are rusted on like mine were. Spray with WD40, etc., use eye AND ear protection, start with a rubber mallet and then a BFH (big f... hammer) if neccessary. Have new rotors on hand as you will probably damage the old ones. A thin layer of antisieze paste (you'll see where to put it from the old rotor) will help with future changes.

Front brake disc removal
On the 126 chassis the brake discs are removed after removing the caliper and then disassembling the wheel bearing. The allen bolts can then be removed releasing the disc from the hub. Grease seals and wheel bearings are serviced at this time

As stated above, you have to remove the entire hub. One tip I wish I had read before doing mine was to two lug bolts back in the hub and clamp them in some sort of vise to give leverage against the tough to get out bolts that hold the disk to the hub. I wound up using a screwdriver in the disk vent to brace the assembly against rotation. Was really a nightmare to get them free. I would clean everything really good and put locktite back on the bolts during assembly.

Easy way to remove hub...
Once you have the rotor off, bolt it back onto one of the wheels. Thread 2 bolts through the wheel and into the rotor (ie. reassemble as if these parts were on the car)
Put the wheel face down with the rotor and hub facing up, then it's a piece of cake to remove the hub bolts! Neal

The W126 front rotors are bolted to the hub from behind. It is necessary to remove the hub to change them.
I just clamp the rotor in a large bench vise, and have never had too much trouble getting the bolts out with a 24" breaker bar and 1/2" drive 10mm allen. I'd not use a 3/8" drive, too light. Make sure the hug and rotor mating surfaces are nice a clean -- a chunk of rust in there can make the brake pedal pulsate! Peter Peter
