windshield washer question on c280
I have a 1998 C280. Ok, so the other day when I tried to clean my windshield, I pulled the switch and fluid was sprayed on the windshield. However, I noticed that fluid also shot out from the bottom of the sprayer and went on the hood. What's the deal with that? It came out from around the base of the unit, not a messed up spray angle or anything like that. Also how do I remove the sprayer so that I can inspect it?

Depending on your car you may be able to see the back of the washer jet by raising the hood or you may have to release the under hood covering to get access . Get someone to operate the washer and watch where the leak is from, probably a cracked jet body from what you describe. To release ,disconnect water pipe and any electric wiring attached then release the retaining lugs ,push upwards and withdraw from the bonnet, then fit new jet you already bought from dealer.
