Vehicle is a '91 300-SEL. I have an MB spark plug connector remover(boot pliers). Cyl 2 boot is stuck on plug. All others come off fairly easily. I've changed plugs on this car before without incident. Is there a technique using the MB tool that can be used to get this stuck spark plug boot off? Thanks for you time.

My only advice is to have a spare plug wire handy so that you can drive the car after you break it.
I have a used set of wires for my 300E left over from when I replaced them. If you send me your address and a buck, I will mail one of them to you. How's that for a helpful answer? Chuck |

Chuch - kind offers like this don't come everyday. I'll get a letter off asap. Thanks again!

I have a technique that works every time with the factory removal pliers.
I turn the end until the metal is placed so that I can get the pliers on the metal, not on the rubber. Then I wiggle, if it does not come off, I get a big screw driver and place it between the pliers and the top of the cylinder head for leverage. Be gentle and work it and it will come off. Once off, I install some lube on the top of the plug. ------------------ Benzmac: Donnie Drummonds 1991 GMC Syclone ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |
