Knock Sensor
Im not very familiar with the Knock Sensor, but ill ask the question anyway. I have a 93 400e. If the Sensor ever detected knock from a lower octane gas, it would change the ignition timing (I think....) Would it ever reset itself to the standard timing when it detected the correct octane fuel, and how long would it take to do this?

It listens for every firing event and retards the timing 3deg every time it hears a knock. If it doesn't hear a knock it puts back one degree each event. so it would take three firing to get back.
This is done independently for each cylinder and they can generally go retarded 15 degrees from the mapped position.
