lamp defective
Repeated "lamp defective" alarms on my '97 E300. The lamps work intermittently- they are not burned out and sometimes just replacing the lamp holder fixes the problem temporarily. However, fully inserting the lamp holder does not seem to work-needs to be backed off a bit. (This is the one for the rear taillight/brake light)
Should I try buying the holder? Is this a common difficulty? |

I Would replace the tail light bulb holder assy as they Melt and cause a Defective Lamp ...in the Cluster...Seen LOTS of them do This

I second that! Lots of those fail.

bulb holder
Thanks to Mark and Gilly. What is the name of the part I buy? I did a quick search on lamp holder and bulb holder and came up empty?
Cheers, Joe |
