Where to get a W126 Parts catalog/list?
Can anyone direct me to a source for a W126 parts catalog/list? When I purchased a used 1978 280E it had a parts catalog that was very useful in helping me understand and repair problems that I encountered with that car. Now I have an 1986 420SEL and I need parts but I need part names and numbers.

Click on the "FastLane" box at the top of this page, then select "online catalog". Select your year and model and you will find the parts listed and prices. They won't be factory MB parts but it will give you something to work with.

Thank you, Rockman59. I have purchased several parts that way. I still want a stand alone parts list. If you check out ebay, parts catalog/lists are available for several MB models, but not for ours. Eventually I want to be able to read a post here for a W126 and be able to go to my car with the catalog/list and be able to locate the part being discussed. As I stated earlier the 1978 280E had a booklet in the glove compartment that showed a diagram of the different areas of the car and listed each part in that area by name and part number. Someone on this forum must have one. Is there a parts list on the MB CD?

The glove box size parts books that used to come with MBs have parts explosions but no part numbers. Maybe the 280E is a special case. What you need is a copy of the EPC. Check the archives of the parts forum for information on getting a copy of the EPC. The EPC doesn't work so well backwards. You can't enter a part and have it tell you where it goes.
The shop manuals available from MB don't have parts diagrams. Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |

Actually one can take a part number and identify what cars it comes on and what it is, using the EPC.

go to www.************************ and request a catalog for the W126 chassis. They have excellent diagrams, but alot of their prices are a little high, plus they are in Calif. so shipping is a big factor for people on the East coast like myself.
OK I see that you are also in Calif., so shipping expensive isn't realy an issue.

Sales tax is a factor if you're in CA.

Thank You to everyone for your advice. I have ordered a catalog from ************************ after checking out the website. If it doesn't do me any good I wil be back. Ebay has an 1986 560SEC parts list up for bids; does it have the same general parts configuration as my '86 420SEL?
