Speedometer needle seemd to jump around every now and then. Just ordered a new one. Is this hard to change? 1986 300E

The cluster will have to come out. The rest is basically freeing up the old cable and removing it. I haven't done this on a Benz yet, but on other makes, we used to tape the new cable to the end of the old one inside the car and pull it thru that way. Not sure if this will work with the 300E. Maybe Benzmac or Steve B. can help here..

Actually the cable and housing get replaced as a unit on MBs.

Steve, that's what I meant. Have you heard of the new cable/housing being pulled thru in the fashion I described on a Benz?? I'm curious. Always helps to know more than you need to know..
