gas leak 99 c43?

Just had the B service that included the fuel filter change. Am smelling gas while car is parked in the garage but don't smell it strongly under the hood. Seems to be either under the car or towards the back for strongest smell. There is no visible dripping but the smell is stong enough to make me a bit ill in the garage.

Is there a fuel filter near the rear axle?

Yes, that's where the filter is. Possibly botched installation of the filter.
